THE PRINCESS AND THE CRAB

From Hong Kong's popular, picturesque landscapes, I traveled to the muddy shores of Ha Pak Lai with a group of horseshoe crab researchers who spent hours searching for specimens hidden in the mud.
Observing the researchers’ slow, precise movements and gestures, my interest shifted to the act of searching itself, as a motif that defines our personal lives: I decided that I too would actively search for something, even though I had no idea what it actually was.
With the ports of Shenzhen in the background, the location ultimately became the setting for a local paraphrase of the well-known fairy tale.
