Parrots are known for their intelligence and ability to mimic human speech. Instead of carrying a written message, a parrot could potentially be trained to verbally deliver a short, spoken message. This could allow for more complex, nuanced, or even secret messages, as the parrot could be taught to repeat specific phrases.
A parrot could be trained to only speak the message to a specific person, adding a layer of security. However, if the parrot were captured or overheard, the message could be compromised. To prevent parrots accidentally repeating sensitive information at inappropriate times, some kind of encryption accesory would have been needed.
