OBSERVATORY GARDEN
installation, 2024The installation features three classical weather instrument shelters, but instead of housing measuring devices, an artificial storm rages inside. The installation suggests that the act of measurement itself can influence the system being observed, as much as it underscores the subjectivity inherent in our understanding of complex processes like weather. The inner mechanisms are detached from the outer world, much like our beliefs guiding us. By reducing atmospheric phenomena to „good” or „bad” weather, the installation reflects humanity’s desire for order and predictability, while also acknowledging that our attitudes toward unpredictability are the only things we can hope to control.
